IMPORTANT. IF YOU’RE WAITING FOR EPISODE 6 OF AOH, READ THIS.This is a message I posted on my YouTube Community.I’m an artist who draws and animates both for passion and for work. That’s why when I launched the Kickstarter for the artbook, I did it because I wanted to realize a project I deeply cared about, after years of sharing my works for free to make them accessible to everyone. It wasn’t about “making money”: those familiar with Kickstarter know that not all the funds go to the creator, and the goal is to bring a dream to life, not to get rich.Additionally, some illustrations had been left unpublished: I had dedicated a lot of time and love to them, and they had never had the chance to be released as they deserved. I wasn’t even paid for their realization because the project was suspended by the old publishing house.As for the manga, as you know, it’s on hiatus because I decided to end my contract with the publisher for personal reasons, which I’ve mentioned multiple times. Even if you didn’t know, that shouldn’t make you disappointed that I can’t continue it (currently). Also, many people continue to buy the manga from external sites, even though I don’t receive any money, despite it being my work, and I know many aren’t aware of that (it’s not their fault of course) which is another reason I did the Kickstarter.I also want to remind everyone that I’ve never promised exact dates or releases for my projects/episodes: I’ve always said “maybe this month, maybe later, if everything goes well, in March, if everything goes well, next spring”. because working alone on manga, animations, and illustrations while studying and managing my personal life is complex. I always do my best, but on my own schedule, and that doesn’t mean I care less about any of my projects. And even if I had said a specific date, if it can’t be done and it’s postponed, it’s also legitimate. I didn’t sign a contract, I don’t make fun of anyone. They’re my decisions. If I decided to dedicate myself to other works in the meantime, I’m not managing everything badly, it’s my life. I know what is best for me.Finally, I want to reiterate that my accounts are personal: I can post whatever I want, whether it’s my project artwork, other illustrations, photos of things I like, or moments from my life. I have no obligations or contracts with the audience: I share what I love, and I ask for respect for the work and passion behind it.Resorting to hate, comparisons, say I make excuses, accusations of laziness or disrespect toward my time and health is not the way to support an artist. I will continue giving my best because I love what I do and I’m grateful to those who follow me with respect and care.So what I want to say is: don’t expect things as if they’re owed to you. I do what I can when I can, and don’t tell me how to manage my work, because you’re not me. NOTE: Of course, asking politely is perfectly fine, when you have a doubt or you want to kindly ask if a work is still in progress. There’s nothing wrong with it!This is obviously not directed at those who have always supported me (thank you so much, I truly care about all of you). Rather, it’s a reminder for those with unusual expectations.I know I didn’t need to give any explanations because freedom is a right, but since I care about it, I wanted to share my thoughts.Thank you for reading, and for always supporting me.Shiru
